Crafting for the Heart of It

Updated: Sep 13, 2022

Crafting keeps me so alive and grounded. This week has been chalked full of crafting. I had to finish some shirts for a retirement part and was very happy with the way they turned out. I get lots of requests for custom T-Shirts and I get pumped when I get to create. I am still learning ( I think that I will always be learning Illustrator) but I take every advantage to learn something new.

So first my Kumquats!

I love the way these turned out. I used Siser EasySubli. The colors are always so vibrant. I have used Reveal-S which is inkjet transfers for cotton. I get both of them from Conde.

I have been using Reveal-S for many years and never have I been told about an issue until this year. It was that the colors ran when it was washed. I am still trying to wrap my head around it because I'm not sure how it happened. In any event, I decided to give the Siser EasySubli a try. I kept seeing it show up on Facebook Groups and the like. So far, I have had zero issues using it and no complaints about running, peeling, etc. I have two shirts off to some toddlers to see the possibilities of what can happen.

While I don't intend to sell the full plate of my LPSlices, I did get a request for a license plate for a one of the above toddlers. Because it was family asking, I opted to make it. It was subbed on a ChromaLuxe 10x5 Aluminum Blank (also from Conde).

It turned out fabulous! The picture doesn't do it justice because it is crisp and glossy and I love it!

For the other toddler, his mother and I have been FaceTiming and he is at that age where he has something to say about everything. He is finding his voice and boy is he using it! I saw on Design Bundles a while back a timeout chair. So I cut out the with the Oracle 651.

So I also have a client that has this HUGE heart. She is the sweetest person I have ever met. When she sends me a request, I can't refuse (did I mention she's 10?). Over the years I have done many, many shirts for her. She asked that I make a special t-shirt for a friend that was making ear savers for masks. She wrote out exactly what she wanted it to say. I went to work. I created a font made out of ear savers (coming soon on my website). Then I took her words and created the shirt!

After that, I had a client that I have had for years that I make his work shirts for him and his crew. So I had to whip them up. This are standard HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) on cotton shirts. I use Siser EasyWeed and I get it from Crafters Corner Supplies. I get my t-shirts from Jiffy Shirts.

Then I got to move back to my LPSlices. I got some mask blanks at Conde a few weeks back and decided to take my LPSlices and make a fabric pattern. Here was the end result.

I'm ready to make some more! I'm going to spend my weekend, finishing up some crochet projects and prepare for some mask making next week.

While this week was busy and chaotically crazy, I enjoyed every moment of it. I am so grateful that I get to do what I love each and every day! Happy Crafting and have a great weekend!
