"The chief enemy of creativity is "good" sense." -- Pablo Picasso
It is often said that the only limit to what we can achieve is our imagination. This is certainly true when it comes to creativity. After all, if we can imagine something, then it can be created. The sky really is the limit. However, our imagination is not always enough. We also need motivation and courage to bring our ideas to life. This is where "good" sense can become our enemy. Too often, we allow ourselves to be held back by practical considerations and what others might think. We become afraid to take risks and break new ground. But if we can learn to embrace our creativity, then there truly is no limit to what we can achieve. Pablo Picasso understood this better than anyone. As he so famously said, "The chief enemy of creativity is 'good' sense." So let us all strive to be a little bit more Picasso and a little less "sensible" in our lives. Who knows what we might achieve!
