“Routine kills creative thought.” - Scarlett Thomas
At first glance, it may seem that routine and creativity are two opposing forces. After all, routine is often associated with the mundane and the ordinary, while creativity is often seen as something that is spontaneous and free-flowing. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that routine can actually be a powerful tool for fostering creativity. Scarlett Thomas, author of “The End of Mr. Y”, said, “Routine kills creative thought.” In other words, if you allow yourself to get too comfortable with the status quo, you'll never challenge yourself to think outside the box. However, if you're constantly seeking out new experiences and trying new things, you'll find that your creative side will flourish. So if you're feeling stuck in a rut, remember that routinely doesn't have to be your enemy. Embrace change, take risks, and above all, don't be afraid to dream big. After all, if you can imagine it, it can be created.
