“Invention, it must be humbly admitted, does not consist in creating out of void, but out of chaos; the materials must, in the first place, be afforded: it can give form to dark, shapeless substances, but cannot bring into being the substance itself.”
- Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley
Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's quote perfectly encapsulates the creative process- inventors are not creating new substances out of thin air, rather they are taking materials from chaos and forming them into something previously unimaginable. In this way, creativity is both inspiring and breathtaking- what was once impossible is now reality because of creative minds and inventive hearts. By recognizing this realization, we can build on it to encourage more motivation and dreams that lead to newly imagined possibilities. It's a reminder that when you have the right ingredients, anything can be created with enough creative power behind it. Invention starts with an inspired dream and transforms that dream into tangible material reality- now more than ever we can use this concept to inspire us forward in order to create the future we want.
