“Ideas are so transcendent and alive compared to language that thousands of variations of each may be written without fully capturing any.”
– Dee Hock
We use language to express ourselves and translate our ideas into words that can be shared with the world. However, our ideas are not confined by the limitations of language. They are wild, uncontainable, and transcendental. Dee Hock says that thousands of variations of each idea may be written, but none of them can capture the full essence of an idea. Why? Because ideas are alive. They continue to grow, evolve, and expand beyond what we can express through language. So, let's never stop pursuing and expressing our ideas, even if we can't fully capture them. After all, as Alan Alda said, "Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in."
